Vertebrae Glacier Photos
Vertebrae Glacier is located on the eastern side of Stovepipe Mountain and upper Vertebrae Ridge. The elevation of the top of the glacier is about 9600 ft. The westerly view from the top looks over the Windlip, parts of Megahooped, and Lodge Ridge to the distant Selkirk and Purcell Mountains. The eastern view includes Mt Columbia, the Snow Dome and many peaks and glaciers of North America's Continental Divide. The snowcat road to Vertebrae Glacier climbs the western side of Stovepipe Mountain and passes from the Windlip to the glacier through a narrow opening known as the Keyhole.
